Vote at the Polls on Election Day

When and Where to go vote

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. (Election Days are generally the 1st Tuesday, following the 1st Monday in June and November) and on other Tuesdays in Special Elections.

The location of your polling place is printed on the back of your Sample Ballot. You can also look up your polling place online. Always double-check the location--sometimes the locations change.

We encourage voters to mark the Sample Ballot and bring it with you to the polls. It will save you time. If you've lost your Sample Ballot, you can view and/or print it by clicking here.

Once at the polls

Here are the steps for voting at the polls on Election Day:

Check-in with the election officer at the Roster Table
Sign the roster
Wait a moment for the election officer to issue you an access code to vote on the eSlate
Vote
When finished voting, the election officers will give you an "I Voted" sticker - Wear it proudly!

Voting at the Polls Most voters cast electronic ballots using the eSlate voting equipment. They are easy to use and accessible for all voters. Watch how it works!

On Election Day, we provide easy voting instructions - experienced voters don't usually need them. But if you do, just ask an election officer - they are there to help!

Any voter may request and vote a paper ballot - simply let the election officer know when you sign the roster.

A Word to Vote by Mail Voters

If you didn't mail your ballot back in enough time for delivery by Election Day, drop it off at ANY active polling place in the County or the Elections Office (between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.) Remember you must sign the return envelope.

If you are not sure it will be received by Election Day, go to your polling place and tell the election officers of your concern. Ask to vote a provisional ballot. They will help you through the process. (It's a little more involved, but not difficult.)

If your mail ballot was not received in time, the provisional will be counted. If the ballot came in the mail in time--the provisional ballot will be tossed out and the mail ballot will be counted.
