Deadline to register for PV schools election

April 17, 2008

Monday, April 21, is the deadline to register to vote in the Portola Valley School District's special all-mail election May 6, according to a news release from Warren Slocum, San Mateo County chief elections officer.

A signed registration card, postmarked on or before April 21, will be accepted as meeting the deadline.

To be eligible to register, a person must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of San Mateo County, and at least 18 years old.

Voters are required to re-register if they have moved, changed their name, or wish to change their political party affiliation.

Voter registration cards are available from the Elections Office, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo; or at any public library, city hall, post office or Department of Motor Vehicles office. Cards may also be downloaded from the Secretary of State's Web site: www.sos.ca.gov.
