Poll Worker Opportunities
Working at the polls is a demanding but vital part of making democracy work. We are always looking for people to work at our polling places. We recruit and train approximately 2,000 workers for a countywide election. If you would like to serve, please call 650-286-2810 or email us at pollworkertraining@smcare.org.
- The Hours - The polls open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM. Election Officers are required to be at the polling place from 6:00 AM to approximately 9:00 PM. You will be given two one-hour breaks during the day for meals.
- Compensation - A stipend of $125.00 for Inspectors (those in charge of the precinct) and $100.00 for Judges.
- Training Classes - Poll Workers are required to attend a training class for which you will be paid an additional stipend if you serve Election Day.
I hereby apply to work as an Election Officer for the County of San Mateo.
