Welcome

We will post the semi-official results for all contests in the Presidential General Election on November 4, 2008 beginning at 8:05 p.m. with Vote by Mail returns, followed by a report at 8:30 p.m. with Vote by Mail Precinct returns, a report at 9:00 p.m. from the Early Voting Centers and live precinct reports beginning at 9:30 p.m. New reports will be issued every half hour until all results are in. You can view our detailed reporting schedule here.

Between the report updates, tune into the Anatomy of Election 08 Simulcast that is airing live on from 7 p.m. to midnight. This Election night broadcast will be a first-in-the-nation democracy-based ‘edutainment’ that will include real-time segments that show viewers the elections process from inside the Elections Office on Election night. Viewers will see just how their Elections Office counts the votes and what it takes to make that happen.

Poke through our blog postings. Watch the movement of ballots from the precincts on Precinct Tracker. You can see if a precinct's ballots are at the polls, a receiving station, elections headquarters at Tower Road, or already in the count in real time.

Use our RaceTracker to follow just those races that interest you. Easily select by race and see detailed results. You can even break down results by precinct or by how votes were cast.

If you want to see how this election compares with others-- look in the Results Archive. Choose an election and compare turnout, voter and party registration, candidates and results from prior years.

Once the vote count is certified when the Canvass of the Vote is completed, (the audit of the vote that takes place during the 28 days following the election), the Statement of the Vote will be posted online. You will be able to download this document which has the detail results from this election.
